| London,
Nov 30: Researchers at Oxford
Brookes University have revealed
an ultimate list of songs that
could beat stress while commuting,
especially for Tube and train
travellers. |
|
Sigur Ros`s ambient
hit Svefn-G-Englar tops the list closely
followed by Beethoven’s ‘Symphony
number 3’ and Mike Oldfield`s
‘Tubular Bells’.
Dr Dai Griffiths,
who led the research and also heads
the Music department at Brookes, insists
that these can help induce a "Zen-like
calm" even in an over crowded
commuter train.
Griffiths claims
that the type of music commuters listened
to could essentially affect their
mood.
The right kind of
music can make you feel calm, sad
or happy, so it`s key to get the right
tracks. I think that if you`re stuck
on a packed Tube, its also worth listening
to the music a little bit more - it
shouldn`t be just background noise.
Try to focus on the words, r certain
aspects like the strings," the
Daily Mail quoted him as saying.
He adds that the
rise of MP3 players has led to a radical
change in the way we listen to music.
With a vide variety of songs to listen,
people hardly listen to complete songs.
"There has
been a big increase in the importance
of compilations. People rarely seem
to listen to entire albums these days,
and I think individual tracks are
more important.
