as it is sent between the browser and directly with
Citibank's Secure Payment Gateway systems. We do not store customer's credit card details.
Citibank Payment Gateway is one of the safest ways for Internet transactions.
2) What are the Payment Options available?
We accept Visa Card, Master Card, Diners Club Card and
Citibank Debit Cards. An HPIN number is mandatory if
you are using a Citibank Debit Card, for any other credit
card HPIN number is not required.
3) What is Order Number?
An Order Number is an unique ID for the orders made
online. The Order Number is of Key importance as the
track downloaded requires the Order Number and your
Username during the first play.
4) What is this whole licensing thing?
My player says that I am playing protected content.
What does all this mean?
All music content on the site available for purchase
are digitally protected media. This protection is enabled
using a secure e-commerce system called digital rights
management (DRM), that protects digital content from
illegal use. In short, DRM is a system that encrypts
digital media content and limits access to only those
people who have acquired a proper license to play the
content. This encryption restricts illegal distribution
of media by allowing the track to be played only on
the computer which has the actual license to play the
track, limiting the number of burns on a CD, time dependent
expiry of the license in case of promotional activities
etc.
5) Do I need Windows Media Player to
play the tracks?
Yes. We strongly recommend the use of Windows Media
Player (Version 7 or higher) to playback the tracks
that have been downloaded.
6) Is it true that I can play a track
only on the computer on which I downloaded the track
for the first time?
Yes. Make sure you are playing the file on the computer
you used to purchase the track. When you purchased the
download, a license was delivered to your computer that
allows you unlimited play of any track you have purchased
on the PC to which the track was originally downloaded.
If you copy the file to another computer, you will not
be able to play the file.
7) Does it have to be the computer
on which I bought the track from?
No. You may purchase the track on a particular computer
and download the track on any other computer. A track
can be successfully downloaded and played only on a
pc on which it downloaded the license from. This necessarily
doesn't have to be the pc you bought the track on.
8) I see a "Burn" icon next to a few
songs. What does it mean?
This icon means that this particular track can be
burnt (copied) on a CD in the cda (audio CD) format.
This CD can be played back on any CD player (CD ROM's,
Car Stereo, Home Audio System etc.) like any other audio
CD.
9) How do I burn the tracks that I
have purchased, on a CD?
To burn your own audio CD from the tracks that you
have purchased, all you need is a CD Writer. Here are the steps
to create your own audio cd.
1) Open Windows Media Player and go to the section called 'Media Library'.
2) Create a new playlist.
3) Add upto 60 minutes of audio into the playlist. You
can add a track into a playlist by right clicking on
the track and selecting 'add to playlist'.
4) Insert a blank recordable CD in your CD Writer.
5) Go to 'File' on the toolbar of your player and click
on 'Copy To CD'.
6) Click 'Copy' to successfully create
your CD.
10) Can I transfer these tracks to
any portable devices or portable media?
Yes. The DRM adds a right in the license to enable
or disable copying to a portable device or portable
media. When enabled, the packaged digital media file
can be copied to a portable device or portable media.
11) How long does it normally take
to download a song?
On an average, on a 56.6 Kbps dial-up modem, a 4 to
5 minute track would take about the same time to download
as any other 3-4 MB file. The time taken is directly
proportaional to the length and the file size of the
track you are downloading. With a cable/DSL or any other
broadband connection, it should take relatively lesser
time. This is purely dependent on your internet connectivity,
since different Internet Service Providers (ISP) offer
different speeds. The download will be much faster if
the interner traffic at that point of time is low.
12) I clicked on the "Download" button,
and it started downloading the song file. But halfway
through the download, i got disconnected and the download
got cut off. What do I do?
You can redownload the music file. To redownload the
music file, go to "My
Account > Purchase History".
13) Does it matter that I connect to
the internet through a proxy?
No.
14) What appears on the shopper's card
statement?
INDIAMUSICINFO.COM will appear on the customer's credit statement.
