Johnny Cash, b. Kingsland, Ark., Feb. 26,
1932, a famous country singer and guitarist, has been a success
since his first songs were recorded--notably "I Walk
the Line" in 1956. He regularly performs in prisons,
and prison songs are an important part of his repertoire.
Cash has been featured in films, on television, and at the
Grand Ole Opry and has won three Grammy Awards. He wrote many
of his songs in collaboration with his wife, country singer
June Carter Cash.
