Percept D'Mark [India] P. Ltd. has announced
the launch of Sangeet Awards 2004, an initiative to honour
the musical genuises of Indian popular music internationally.
The awards presentation ceremony will be held on October 1
at Royal Albert Hall, London.
Icons from the film and music industry like Shyam Benegal,
Ramesh Sippy, Saapna Mukherjee, Sameer, Himesh Reshammiya,
Ken Ghosh, Viju Shah, Shiamak Davar and Raju Singh will judge
the awards.
In the first year, a total of 22 awards will be presented
across three main categories: Film Music [6 awards], Critics
Awards [9 awards] and Pop Music [7 awards].
Adnan Sami, Hrithik Roshan, Yana Gupta, Sameera Reddy and
Rishi Rich Project from London will perform on the occasion.
