"Machan Peru Madhurey" could not
displace "Vasoolraja MBBS" even though Vijay has
danced like a dream and the song was picturised almost like
the "Appadi podu" of "Gilli". You can
call it Bharadwaj's victory over Vidyasagar. The songs of
Vasoolraja still are on the top of the charts.
The following are the five top Tamil audios:
1. "Vasoolraja MBBS" (Music Bharadwaj): The music
of the film, which sounded ordinary the first time around,
has become a hit now. The film, which is not a patch on the
Hindi original, is also a hit now. Yes, nothing succeeds like
success. The songs sung by Kamal Haasan - "Kalakka povathu
yaaro" and "Alwarpetai aaluda" -- are a huge
success. So also the title track "Sakalaka doctor"
sung by Bharadwaj, Arjun and Donan.
2. "Chellamey" (Muisc Harris Jayaraj): Though "Chellamey"
does not have the magic of "Kaakha Kaakha", the
songs in the album are topping the charts regularly these
days.
3. "Students" (Music Jassie Gift): It is like the
saying, slow and steady wins the race for this Jassie Gift
album. All the songs sung by Jassie Gift like "Lajjavathiye",
"Ballae ballae" and "Annakkili" are becoming
more and more popular in Tamil Nadu too like its Malayalam
original.
4. "Madhurae" (Music: Vidyasagar): The verdict is
out. No, the music of "Madhurey" is not going to
be a hit like "Gilli" though in the initial days,
the album, especially the song "Machan peru madhurey"
gave a strong indication that the album may become a hit.
Even "Machan peru madhurey" will not be another
"Appadi podu".
5. "7-G Rainbow Colony" (Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja)
Class will survive while crass songs will fade out as days
pass by. Even though "7-G Rainbow Colony" is yet
to hit the screen, this classy album continues to remain a
favorite. Even the mobile handset ring tones based on the
music of this film are extremely popular among the youngsters.
