A fortnight-long music festival is being organised at Guruvayur from
November 8 in connection with the ''Ekadasi festival'' of the famous Shri Krishna temple.
Musicians from all over India will participate in the fortnight-long `Chembai Music Festival`. The annual `Chembai Sangeetholsavam' will be conducted at Guruvayur between November 8 and 22.
Kerala Devaswom Minister K C Venugopal inaugurated the Music
festival celebrated in the memory of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar and a mandolin concert by Padmashri U Shrinivas was the highlight of the opening day's programme.
The last 10 days of the festival (from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.) will feature concerts by musicians. Of these, the concerts on the last five days will be relayed on AIR and DD.
The festival, celebrated in the memory of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar,
an ardent devotee of Lord Sree Guruvayurappan, concludes on the Ekadasi day, which falls on November 22.
