Indian Odyssey — a confluence of Indian classical dance forms, world music and a fashion show with top models of India — is all set to enthral visitors at Festival Plaza at Azaiba, Muscat for a week starting January 22 and ending on January 28.

The show will highlight Odissi, a classical dance form of India, and Chhau beginning with a suryapranayam presented by the Indian Revival Group. Also included is a vibrant high fashion presentation of modern India by the showcasing of outfits designed by Hemant Lalwani and Nandita Raipurani. The collection will be a riot of colours with a spread of orange, fuchsia, yellows, reds, turquoise, greens, gold and silver with exquisite embroidery using beads, pearls, zardozi, etc.

The specially-choreographed show will also portray the different emotions of Indian women emphasising their power and strength. The show will fuse contemporary and creative Indian dance forms in an item called Shanti, which would highlight the need for peace and ultimately fuse into a fashion presentation.
Music for the show will be a blend of Indian classical and western based on the rhythm of World Music presented by the famous fusion band Samvedha.
