Though the warming
of relations between India and Pakistan
at the political level may still be
a far cry, there is definitely a ''meeting
of hearts'' between the people residing
on both sides of the border.
In what could be seen as the latest
example of ''cultural bonhomie'' between
people of the two countries, the music
of Sanjay Gupta's 'Zinda', which has
Pakistani pop singer Strings composing
and singing some of its songs, is
a rage with the people of Pakistan.
The "much-awaited" film,
which created history last month after
it became the first in Bollywood's
history to have its music released
simultaneously in India and Pakistan,
has the people of Pakistan ''swaying
to its tunes''.
''The music of 'Zinda', which was
released on December 10 last year
in India and Pakistan simultaneously,
has become an instant rage with the
people there,'' playback singer Shibani
Kashyap, who has sung two songs in
the film, including the ''chartbuster''
title track 'Zinda Hoon main', told
UNI in New Delhi.
''So popular is the music of the film
with people of Pakistan that the authorities
have, on popular demand of the Pakistani
public, invited us to the neighbouring
country to perform a live show,''
Shibani said.
According to Shibani, it was the Pakistani
band, Strings, that played a major
role in ensuring the simultaneous
release of the music of the film in
both the countries. |
