Renowned musicians Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan of West Bengal, Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan and A K Hangal of Maharashtra were among the three musicians who have been conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, the third highest civilian honour. No one was selected for Bharat Ratna, the highest honour for second consecutive year.
