M.S.Gopalakrishnan is the recipient of many awards and titles:
* 1960 Violin Vadhya Samrat by the late Swami Sivananda Maharaj
of Rishikesh
* 1975 Prestigious Padmasri Award by the Government of India
* 1975 Violin Vadhya Chakravarthi in Pokkipse University,
USA
* 1978 Kalaimamani Award by the Government of Tamil Nadu
* 1980 Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academy Award
* 1882 Central Sangeeta Nataka Academy Award
* 1984 Chowdiah Award from Karnataka
* 1997 Sapthagiri Sangeetha Vidwan Mani Award
* 1998 Sangeetha Kalanidhi by the Music Academy, Madras
He was also Asthana Vidwan of Tamil Nadu during the Dr.M.G.Ramachandran
period for three years.
He is a member of the Experts' Committee of the Music Academy,
Madras and is on the panel of judges of All India Radio.
Concerts Tours and Performances
MSG has traveled all over India and abroad. He has performed
in major conferences such as the Tansen Festival and Pandit
Krishna Rao Centenary Celebrations.
His overseas tours for solo concerts include USA, Canada,
UK, Europe, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
Recordings
MSG is the only violinist in the top grade of All India Radio
giving concerts in Hindustani and Carnatic styles. He is regular
performer of national programmes on radio and television.
MSG has released many records, cassettes and compact discs.
