Ayaan Ali Bangash

Born on September 5th, 1979, Ayaan Ali Bangash represents the seventh generation of a musical lineage known as the Senia Bangash School. The younger son and disciple of the Sarod titan Maestro Amjad Ali Khan, Ayaan stepped into the world of music and the Sarod with confidence, clarity, consistency and technical mastery that he learnt at his father's knee.

After giving his solo debut at eight, Ayaan has been performing concerts world wide ever since. He has given many solo performances and also assisted his illustrious father at concerts all over the world including performances at the Smith Sonian, Carnegie Hall, St. James Palace and the Barbican Center. In addition, he has assisted his father and elder brother Amaan, at a special concert for HRH Prince Charles at his Highgrove residence.

His mother, Subhalakshmi Khan, an artist in her own right, sacrificed her career as a classical dancer to devote herself to the family and sustain its heritage. Ayaan has given joint performances with pianist Dominique Barthassat and percussionist Jean Bruno Meier on several occasions. He has also assisted his father in the signature tune of the 48th International Film Festival.

Bestowed with the 'Best Budding Artist of the Year' award by the Prime Minister, Ayaan also received the Soorya Award in Trivandrum. Recently, his solo debut album was released, recorded in the presence of his father and guru.
