A shadava audava janya
raga derived from the 28th mela Harikamboji. Besides
Sa and Pa^ the notes taken by this raga are Antara Ga^
Sudha Ma^ Chatusruti Dha and Kaishiki Ni. An upanga
raga in which Ri is varjya in both arohana and avarohana.
Ga is nyasa svara and Pa is amsa svara.Ma and Ni are
rendered with little gamaka. Most of the compositions
start from Dha^ Pa and Ma. A melodic raga wherein kampavihina
prayogas are also met with Saint Thyagaraja popularised
this raga to a great extent. |
