A janya raga popular in both Hindusthani
and Carnatic Music. In carnatic Music Poorvi is considered
to be the Janya of 15th mela Mayamalavagaula. A shadava
sampoorna raga with Pa is deleted in arohana. The notes
taken by the raga besides Sa and Pa are Sudha Ri^ Antara
Ga^ Sudha Ma^ Sudha Dha and Kakali Ni. According to
Dikshitar school^ this is sampoorna raga.
